REVIEW: Shadow of Light

The cliffhanger for the first book in this series was cruelly done, the last sentence of the last page. I was left with a scream in my throat and a dented spine after throwing the book. I enjoyed the mixing of real life and fantasy so I was very interested in where the second book would go.

Now that we know who Harley is, we need to know what that means. I’m not sure we fully get that answer in this book but boy do we get an insanely bumpy, action filled road to get there. From page 1 Harley, Ray and Draven are fighting nearly every second for their lives. They literally go through the various levels of hell being attacked by all manner of demons discovering new powers and who they are and who they are meant to be.

This one was just a like not a love for me. Too much action and insane emotion to catch your breath and that left me a little anxious and uncertain how I felt about each development as they came. I did love Harley’s coming into to her own bada**ness though. The last chapter was another assault on humanity which means I’ll now read the third book under duress rather than by choice. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

What’s the worst cliffhanger you’ve ever experienced?
