Songs in Ursa Major is a lovely story about the unpredictability of the music industry and how easily a passionate musician can captivate the world. Jessie and Janie are both residents of a small island with a vibrant music scene and a famous music festival. When Jessie’s band is unable to perform after he is in an accident, Janie steps in and crushes it. She is an overnight sensation. What follows is their complicated relationship and her struggles to balance her artistic freedom with the chains of the music industry.
The first half of this book was perfect, the writing was beautiful and the emotions were high. There was a bit in the middle where I struggled with the pacing of the plot and some of the actions Jane took but the ending was full of magic once again. Check this one out if you love books about passionate artists, an inside look into the music industry or just beautiful prose. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐
