This was my first Farrah Rochon book, I know, crazy right? I was really drawn into this romcom because the characters were educated and well put together. There was no disorganized woman hoping for love, a trope that I hate, London is successful and cocky and kind. She was the kind of woman you want to root for. Love wasn’t the plan, in fact, the last thing she wants from her high school rival is anything. But at their high school reunion, they realize they have an intense spark. Circumstances allow them to spend some bedroom time together and agree to just mess around while they are in the same town. Quickly they realize that they are interested in more but can they find a way to make it work.
There is fun banter, a great foundation story about finding a way to save the hospital and lots of sexy time – if that’s your thing. It was a bit steamier than I usually read but I really appreciated they were responsible, respectful adults slowly discovering their feelings for one another. There is no shenanigans of constant miscommunications, another trope that annoys me, these two speak and challenge and resolve. I really liked that. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Thanks to Netgalley for advanced access to this novel. All opinions above are my own.
