REVIEW: Unmasked: My Life Solving America’s Cold Cases

Paul Holes is a forensic investigator based in California and therefore has been involved with some of the most high profile cases in the last few decades. He worked with Michelle McNamara as his obsession with catching the Golden State Killer / East Area Rapist fueled him as much as it did her. He was also involved with catching Scott Peterson and Jaycee Dugard’s kidnapper. He recounts his career, those cases and the cost on his home life.

The pages go easily on this one, especially if you’re a true crime junkie. I am definitely in awe of his career and all he was able to accomplish but didn’t feel like this one gave me too many details I didn’t already know.

Thanks to Celadon Books for the gifted copy. All opinions above are my own.

Do you like true crime?
